Name that Book!

Mary

For those of you who didn't participate on Facebook, or even if you did, please vote on the name for book six. I know, I know, Caitlin's Fire, my fourth isn't out yet, but I'm thinking ahead. I have completed my seventh manuscript. I have named book five, Tory's Father. Book six is either Eden's Portion or Sunrise Canyon.  You get to pick.

Not the best at Blogging!

Mary

I know I'm not the best at blogging, but I am going to do better for those of you who are interested! I know I have a lot of fans out there, but I have neglected you as far as blogging goes. Please forgive me…I will do better in the future! :)

"The covers on my books"

Mary

Some of you may wonder, without checking, how the covers on my books are so eye-catching. My youngest son, Andrew, is a graphic designer in Portland, OR. His speciality is branding, but it seems everything he does makes a body pause and look.

When I sent Liberty's Inheritance to Tate Publishing, I told Andrew, "If they put a woman's face on the cover, I'm going to be upset!" He sent me the train and asked, "How do you like this?" I liked it so well, I sent it to Tate and then told him afterward. All eight graphic designers voted on Andrew's cover. It has made my books even more special to me.

After Liberty's Inheritance came out, he gave me the picture on the back, of Matthew's Rancho, for a Christmas Present. This past Christmas I got a framed picture of Liberty's Heritage which fit into my livingroom's theme of lighthouses and fisherman.

Another bonus to not having a woman's face on the cover is that men are enjoying the stories, too. I didn't think of it before, but I don't think a man would pick up the book if a woman's face was on it.

"I have an editor!"

Mary

Today I hired Dori Harrell, a freelance editor at Breakout Editing. I am so excited to have such a talented and professional editor to edit my stories. She is a Christian, which is a necessity for me. I have complete confidence she will make my books even better for my readers. You can check her out online at doriharrell.wix.com/breakoutediting; it's a beautiful website. She has tons of writing experience and will be a perfect fit for me.

You, my readers, deserve the best I have to offer and having my stories professionally edited will make a better read for you!

God Bless you!

Mary

"As you can surmise,"

Mary

As you can surmise, I want the fourth book when it comes out. I read the last two in a week. They are such terrific books. Waiting anxiously for the next one.

"Liberty's Heritage, loved every page!

Mary

I have just finished your third book, Liberty’s Heritage, and loved every page!  The way you wove the previous books into this third book was incredible.  I have never read a book that was both a sequel and prequel to a previous book in a series-very creative and well done!  I bonded with your new characters and gained a deeper appreciation of the previous characters.  Most of all, I treasured how each characters that had a relationship with God, spoke to God and shared his or her love to Him in their own unique ways.  Just as God loves each of us individually, we can share our love to Him in our own individual ways.  I am looking forward to the next book!

"I find myself intrigued"

Mary

I received books 2 & 3 last Saturday (we didn't get the mail until late since we were out of town).  I had read them both by Thursday night.  You have a special gift.  I find myself intrigued with the mysteries that play out, but I'm also sheddng tears of joy with the reunions you've created.  I can't wait for #4 this summer.  I do hope you continue to find a place for Liberty, her family and others as you proceed.  I appreciate the godly dispositions of the Christian characters and how they handle the issues that confront them.  Likewise, how they pause to give thanks for His protection and guidance.

I purchased a copy of "LIberty's Inheritance" for my sister who lives in Manhattan, KS.  Hopefully after she reads #1, she'll want to continue and also share you with her friends.

"Couldn't put it down!"

Mary

I've had Liberty's Inheritance for over a year. I just picked it up the other day and couldn't stop reading. I stayed up late and then after I got what I needed to get done the next morning I started reading some more. I finished it and loved the train trip west with Liberty and Maggie. I also can't wait to start the second one because there has to be something more about that ormolu clock! Thanks for such a good read, Mary Ann Kerr. Keep them coming.

"Liberty's Land is Coming Soon!"

Mary

MARY.2-LibertysLand.png

Hey there, readers of Liberty's Inheritance,

I can officially say Liberty's Land is in the works and hopefully will be out by the first of June!

I am so excited. This is the book that deals with white female slavery which was at its peak in 1885 from Europe. Liberty is building her house, learning to cook, growing to love her newly found father and grandmother. You won't want to miss Liberty's Land!

"I absolutely loved this book!"

Mary

I absolutely loved this book, I could not put it down. Staying up late at night, even though I had to get up early for work, because it was just too good to stop. I am anxious for the book 2 in the series, hope I don't have to wait too long. This book was a gift from my friend Bev, what a blessing and a treat.

"I couldn't put the book down"

Mary

I couldn't put the book the down. The author did a fantastic job building the characters and drawing you into the lives of the characters and story line. There is something in the story for everyone. I have shared the book with my friends and they all say I couldn't put the book down. I can't wait to read the next book.

"I will be looking forward to Liberty's Land"

Mary

Dear Mary Ann,

I received a signed copy of Libery's Inheritance from my sister in Yakima. We both grew up there, and she still lives there. Your scripture reference, Eph. 2:8-10 is one of my favorites and tends to keep me grounded if I start thinking that I am doing things in and of myself.

Back to the novel...
I love the storyline, which is easy to follow and very believable. I have been hoping the next book is out soon, but do not see any information on it. I am unable to login to your site...don't know why.
I am hoping that the book is still on the way and that you will be so kind as to respond to this email.
May God bless you through all your writings and in your life.

I will be looking forward to Liberty's Land. I simply fell in love with the story and characters. I think you wrote it beautifully. A friend of mine also read  the book and is as excited as I am to get her hands on the next one.

I am hoping that the book is still on the way and that you will be so kind as to respond to this email.
May God bless you through all your writings and in your life.

Maggie from Conconully, WA

"I can't wait till the next one comes out."

Mary

Hi Mary Ann, My husband, John, bought your book for me at the 2012 Dist. Assembly for the Church of the Nazarene in Kennewick, WA.  I was there also.  We are from Coeur d’Alene & your missionary kids spoke at our church when they were here last.  They will be speaking again when they come home in 2014.  Yes, I have read your book and enjoyed it very much. It certainly is a cliff hanger.  I can’t wait till the next one comes out.  In fact I just recommended it to my sister-in-law to give as a gift to her sister-in-law in Nampa, ID.  Thanks for writing.
